For Squall/Leon Lovers

You were heading down to the bailey in Radiant Garden when you heard an explosion, so you took out your weapon and ran toward where you heard it. What you saw was Merlin and Cid unconscious next to a crater. You quickly ran to Merlin and shook him awake.

When he did wake up, you asked him, "Merlin, what the happened down here?"

"That infernal technology and my magic do not go well together when I use a little too much," Merlin said as you helped him up and leaned him against the wall, then slapped Cid awake. He got up grumbling something about how much munny it's gonna take to replace whatever technological device it was. He then helped you take Merlin down to his house, where the rest of the restoration commitee was. You helped Merlin into a nearby chair and then helped Aerith with checking and curing the injuries. You were too busy to notice a certain tall man with long brown hair leaning against the wall watching you. Cid was busy explaining to Aerith what Merlin's magic had done and you had to force Merlin to stay in the chair.

"Merlin, how am I gonna heal you if you keep moving around," you asked while Cid snickered. You shot him a glare that quickly shut him up, though. After you were done healing Merlin up, you sat yourself in another chair and wiped the sweat from your forehead. Leon came up to you and gave you a towel, then went back to leaning against the wall.

"Thanks, Leon," you said while wiping the rest of the sweat from your face. Cid, Aerith, and Merlin had gone down to try to fix the crater that was created from the explosion.

"No problem, ______. Who would have thought that Merlin had so much energy," Leon said and chuckled a little afterward. You, being too tired, didn't say anything.
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What, no comeback?"

"I'm too tired to even think of one," you said honestly. You hadn't really been getting good sleep the last couple of months because you've been having dreams about Leon. You had grown attached to him since you came back, but knew he wouldn't be interested in you when he has all of Radiant Garden to rebuild. You were helping out because it was your childhood home as well as Leon's. He had noticed the bags under your eyes the past couple months, too.

"Still not getting enough sleep," Leon asked in what surprised you as a worried tone.

"Why are you so worried about me when we've got an entire world to rebuild," you manage to make a comeback this time without actually meaning to, but he didn't notice. He seemed to be trying to figure out how to help you, not taking in a thing of what was around him at the moment.

"Squall! Stop thinking of helping me and start thinking of something to do about that crater," you said, managing to snap him out of it. Leon had given you another worried look and had you lay on Merlin's bed before heading out.

"Try to get some sleep, ______. I need to have you alert and focased," Leon said before leaving you there to help with the crater. You threw your weapon at the wall in frustration before falling into for once, a dreamless sleep.

Leon had managed to get the crater situation done and over with in about two hours, then headed off to check on you. You and he had been friends for a long time, and you had just come back from another world a couple months ago to help out with rebuilding both of your childhood home. For some reason, he never seemed to mind it when you called him Squall. He actually had to stop himself from smiling every time you did because you were frustrated or angry with him. When he reached Merlin's house, he quietly opened the door and saw your weapon sticking out of the wall. He chuckled softly to himself when he saw that you were actually asleep. All that you had told him was that you were having trouble sleeping, but not the reason why. Whenever he tried to ask you about it, you'd either change the subject or "remember" something that you forgot to do. Leon had stayed there for a couple of minutes before heading back out to help out with a couple finishing touches of rebuilding this world with Yuffie, then heading back and waiting for you to wake up.

You had just woken up about four hours since you fell asleep and jumped when you saw Leon sitting by the bed. He chuckled a little and you shot him an agitated look, seeing as it always took a while for you to fully wake up.

"You know, it's not nice to stare at people," you said while taking your weapon out of the wall.

"Yeah, well I didn't have anything else to do," Leon said while standing up and walking over to you after you put your weapon away.
"How long was I asleep," you asked, feeling more refreshed then you have the past three months.

Leon smirked as he said, "Four hours."

"WHAT," You yelled, now wide awake, "You've been watching me for FOUR HOURS!?"

"No, I've been watching you sleep for the last half hour. You've been asleep since I left," Leon said while chuckling at you freaking out. You crossed your arms and glared at him for about a minute. Then you started heading for the door to head home, Leon following you, keeping up with your pace easily. You completely ignored him until you felt his hand on your shoulder. He gave you a rare smile and said, "You can't ignore me forever, _______. We've known each other for way too long."

You give in and give him a hug like you did when you two were kids. He hugged you back and said, "I've had something I've been wanting to tell you."

"What," you ask, your voice slightly muffled from your head being in his chest.

Leon looked you in the eye and said, "I love you."

"I love you, too" you said as your heart fluttered from this moment. Leon smiled again and leaned down to kiss you, roughly yet passionately. You kissed back without a moment's hesitation, smiling yourself. He held your face to make the kiss deeper as you put your arms around his neck. He broke the kiss and you both had caught your breath, not even noticing that Aerith, Yuffie, Cid, and Merlin were standing there, smiles and smirks on their faces. Leon then let you get on his back as he took you home, both of you smiling from finally getting together after all these years of friendship.
