For Izaya Orihara Lovers Request

You really were getting tired of that "Princess" nickname Izaya had given you when you first met since everyone had taken to calling you it. Then again you figured he probably annoyed you to no end because of all of the people in the world, you were the one person he was wrong about. You looked like nothing special, someone that he should easily be able to know what your next move or reaction would be. But the thing is that you would always do the opposite of what he expected. You saw a fight starting to take place and sighed before heading that direction and blocking the guy's punch and saying, "Now that's not very nice. I suggest you run along before you get hurt."

The boy looked to be about 12. When compared to you, he was nothing, so the kid took your advice and ran off while the other one thanked you before doing the same. You shook your head at their retreating forms and sighed before hearing Izaya say, "Aw come on, Princess. You know that you shouldn't interefere with these kinds of things."

You simply started walking away saying, "For a guy who loves humans, you sure know how to annoy the Hell out of this one."

"How could I annoy you?" he asked sarcastically while you continued walking away and saying, "You're the so called expert on human beings, Orihara. You should know."

You looked back to see that he had already caught up and sighed while he continued walking with you and said, "Princess, you are quite the peculiar human. That just makes you more lovable."

"How many times have you said that?" you asked while looking over across the street, "Because no matter how many times you do, I'm not going to believe it."

"Come on, Princess. You know that I love you too. After all, I love all humans, and you're no different," he said with a smile to which you turned over to him and said, "I'm different than most humans, Izaya. You can't predict me like most others."

"But that just makes you all the more interesting and lovable," he said to which you rolled your eyes at and stuck your tongue out before continuing your walk home. That is, until he grabbed your shoulder and lead you to a nearby cafe saying, "Let me at least treat you for something before you head home. You look like you haven't had food in awhile."

You sent him a scowl before taking yourself out of his grasp and saying, "I have food at home. I can eat there."

Then he sent you that look that no matter how many times he'd used it, you could never say no for very long. You sighed before saying, "Fine. But you better not pull something."

He smirked before holding his arm out and you rolled your eyes but took it nonetheless since he was going to stay like that even if you didn't take it. Then you remembered that you had promised Shizuo that you'd hang out with him and sighed before looking over at Izaya and saying, "I know that you don't love all humans. Your hatred with Shizuo is enough to prove that."

Izaya's face had darkened slightly as he looked over to you and asked, "What do you find in him to be worth of your friendship?"

"I'll only answer that if you answer why you tend to say that you love almost every human but don't let anyone in," you said and added, "You even consider your own family as friends, so why keep everyone away from knowing who the true Izaya Orihara is? You may know an awful lot about the real me, but I hardly know a thing about the real you."

Another thing that most of the time only you could do was dumbfound Izaya. He looked into your very serious (e/c) eyes and then down at the menu before saying, "I do it to keep people safe. Especially the ones that I find that I do care about."

You looked him in the eye and said, "What's the point in saying you care when you can't let them in to truly show it? My life has been nothing but risk, as have almost everyone in the entire world's, whether the risk is big or small. In all honesty, I think it's for you to keep yourself safe."

"Why would I need to keep myself safe?" he questions to which you respond with, "Izaya, you don't want to feel loss, pain, or suffering. You don't want emotions to cloud your judgement, and you're scared of what will happen to you if you do experience those emotions, so you keep people as far away from the real you as you can."

You looked down at your own menu and when the waitress came you gave her your order as he did the same. You kept your head down in shame because you didn't want to tell him this, but he'd made it finally come out. But a deal was a deal and you looked up at him and said, "The reason I find Shizuo to be worth my friendship is because he was there at a very dark time in my life and helped me out of it when nobody else had."

Izaya looked at you in slight surprise before saying, "You don't seem to have any indication of a dark past. What happened?"

You looked out the window and took a shaky breath before saying, "I've already told you more than I've ever wanted to, Izaya."

You turned to look at him only to see that there was true worry in his eyes as he laid a hand on top of your own and said, "I know that you'll feel better after you talk about it, ______. Please tell me."

You knew that he was serious because the only time he called you by your name was when he was. You looked him in the eye while telling him everything about your family's deaths. He looked truly sorry for what you had to go through and you wiped your eyes to keep the tears away while he was processing everything that you had told him, growing more astonished with each realization. You kept your gaze on your food as you ate until he said, "Why keep it away from everyone?"

"Same reason you hide the real you. I was scared of those events and never wanted to relive them again, much less have it come back," you said while looking at him for the first time in 20 minutes. You saw that he truly was worried about you again and said, "Plus I didn't want everybody to see me as a fragile doll that's supposed to be locked away and kept safe. None of the pitied or worried stares like you're giving me right now."

Izaya looked you in the eye before leaning forward and kissing you right then and there to which your eyes widened in shock before he pulled away and said, "Maybe I worry because I finally see someone to show the real me to. Someone that I can truly love."

You locked your gaze with his again before nodding your head in agreement to which he let a soft smile show and leaned forward again and kissed you to which this time you kissed back as a soft smile came to your own lips as one of his hands cupped your face and you both whispered, "I love you."
